SOLID WASTE SOLUTIONS, INC.
A Sustainability Company
Reducing our footprint one step at a time!
We started our efforts to help make solid waste handling more efficient as well as reduce CO2 emissions in 2005. Since then we have worked exclusively with college campuses on guiding them how to reduce their costs; reduce their waste handling; reduce their CO2 emissions.
We have worked with schools from MIT to University of Central Florida, from University of Texas - Austin to University of Hawaii and schools in between. With each of these schools we found at least a 30% reduction in operating costs and 40% reduction in CO2 emissions.
We work only on solid waste handling. We have written Solid Waste Sustainability Master Plans, while developing a mobile waste handling system for efficient solid waste management. This system uses different waste receptacles at buildings across a campus. The type and size is determined by the amount and type of waste generated by each building. We then design the collection equipment needed to pick up the waste and prepare it for the hauler pickup. The solid waste then collected will be transported off campus in the most efficient method possible, thereby reducing the costs of collection/transport and CO2 emissions.
